Pembroke Welsh Corgi

Originally herding dogs, capable of controlling cattle by nipping at their heels, the Corgi is an active, intelligent, hardy and capable little dog.

Both Welsh Corgi varieties share a common ancestry. They were divided into Pembroke and Cardigan varieties in the mid 1930s. Of the two, the Cardigan type is considered the older variety.

The Pembroke Corgi is somewhat smaller and has fewer permitted coat colours than the Cardigan type. His tail is somewhat shorter and pointed ears somewhat smaller than his Cardigan cousin.

The Pembroke Corgi is a nimble, active character and a capable worker, loyal, fun-loving, even-tempered and confident.
