Sledding & Dry Land Mushing

dry sled dogsThe UK isn't a place known for it's deep snow. While we do have some snowfall, there is rarely enough, and it is too unpredictable, to sustain sledding as a sport using a typical sleigh. Dry dog sledding is an alternative.

If you want to try dry dog sledding in the UK you will need either a rig, rather like a modern day Roman chariot, a scooter or another device which has wheels and can be pulled along over dirt tracks, grass, mud and stones!

One of the most popular places to try dog sledding in the UK is Scotland. The area around Aviemore in particular is very popular and every year a major race is held in that area for dogs of all abilities and all pure and mixed breeds.
