Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever

Originating from Canada, but similar to several European duck-decoy breeds, the web toed Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, or Toller, runs along the shoreline using his white tipped tail to lure waterfowl within shooting range, and then swims out to retrieve the dead or injured birds.

Lively and exuberant, the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever requires both mental stimulation and physical exercise to thrive. Often mistaken as being a small Golden Retriever, the Toller is an altogether more active, high-energy breed.
