English Pointer

Although it is believed to have originated in Spain, the last two or three centuries have undoubtedly cemented the Pointer as a truly English breed.

Elegant, sleek and muscular, the English Pointer is an even tempered dog, speedy over ground and steady on point with an exceptional sense of smell.

Athletic, graceful and distinguished the Pointer is a hard driving hunting dog, alert and ready to go. Typically non-territorial, loyal and affectionate he has a natural desire to feel valued as a member of the family and is happiest as an indoor rather than kennel living dog.

The English Pointer is a breed that can become destructive if it is not given sufficient exercise. It was bred to run for hours without tiring, and has retained that crucial hunting ability. Their explosive energy and playful nature may be too much for younger children.
