Entlebucher Mountain Dog

Smallest of the four Swiss Mountain Dogs the Entlebucher is an agile, faithful and intelligent dog which is still used as a cattle herder in the mountain pastures of Switzerland.

While self-confident and independent the Entlebucher Mountain Dog attaches with unwavering devotion to his family and is happiest being alongside his master and included in activities rather than being left alone. This is not a breed which thrives in a kennel environment or as a yard dog.

Somewhat territorial and suspicious of strangers, his impressive bark will announce the arrival of visitors, making him an excellent watch dog.
