English Setter

Stylish and elegant the English Setter combines strength and stamina with a cheery disposition, he is a capable worker and an attractive companion. His white coat is flecked with colour, referred to as 'belton'.

In common with other gun dog breeds, the working English Setter lines have developed quite distinctly from the more commonly seen show, or Laverack, types which generally tend to be larger and carry more coat.

Friendly and good natured, the English Setter loves company and will become bored and mischievous if left to his own devices. The working English Setter is reputed to be among the most intelligent of the setting and pointing dogs, and among the most difficult to train.
