Modelling & Acting

performing dogsIt takes a well-trained dog to be a successful doggie-model, along with plenty of patience and loads of luck. Calm and relaxed dogs make better models and actors than those that tend to be anxious or nervous.

On a photo or movie shoot, there is lots of activity and people. Performing dogs must be comfortable about being around, and touched by strangers touch, and be relaxed in an environment  filled with energy, noise, and activity. Basic obedience training is a must but acting and modelling dogs don't necessarily need to know any special tricks.

Having fun with your dog should be your primary reason for getting into doggie show business. Don't do it for the money. Warm up your dog's career by entering some photo contests. There are loads of dog model search contests across the country.

If you're serious about show business, your dog needs an agent to maximize the opportunities. There are numerous resources about getting your dog into show business, training, and agencies.
