Canadian Eskimo Dog

Powerful, athletic and imposingly wolflike in appearance, the Canadian Eskimo Dog is one of North America's oldest breeds. The environment these dogs have evolved in and the work they have been employed to do has resulted in a tough, loyal, brave, alert and intelligent dog which bonds deeply with its owner and requires a large amount of exercise and mental stimulation.

Naturally, Canadian Eskimo Dogs delight in cold weather and care should be taken that they do not overheat or dehydrate when conditions are warmer.

With a zest for life, rugged strength, impressive stamina and a gentle disposition the Canadian Eskimo Dog makes a fabulous companion for the active, outdoor-loving owner. Like many Spitz type breeds they can be somewhat vocal, although their natural voice is a howl rather than a bark.
