Bracco Italiano

A descendant of early crosses between hounds and gundogs in order to produce pointing types with enhanced stamina, the Bracco Italiano is a multi-purpose, hunting, pointing retrieving breed popular in mainland Europe.

Among the most hound like of all gundog breeds, the Bracco Italiano is an enthusastic hunter, with a keen sense of smell, a staunch point and a reliable retrieve. He is happiest working, be that in track and search, field trials or competition.

People loving, companionable, affectionate and willing to please, the Bracco Italiano is nonetheless a hunting dog and as such retains more than a touch of the stubbornness and single-mindedness of a hound, especially when he is out in the field.
