Belgian Shepherd Dog - Tervueren

The four varieties of Belgian Shepherd, Groenendael, Laekenois, Malinois and Tervueren, vary only in coat colour and type.

All four types are graceful, purposeful, working dogs which require adequate amounts of physical and mental exercise into which their considerable intelligence and energy can be channelled.

Belgian Shepherds have found gainful employment as service dogs for police and armed forces. Observant, courageous, devoted and trainable they are not suited to inactive lifestyles or inexperienced owners.

The Tervueren type, rapidly gaining in popularity in recent times, has the same range of colourings as the Malinois, but with a longer outer-coat that is straight and abundant.
