Airedale Terrier

The largest of all terrier breeds, with a remarkable sense of smell the Airedale Terrier has been used for tracking and as a service dog with police and armed forces. Protective without aggression, he is a devoted companion and an excellent family dog.

The Airedale Terrier was bred as an independent hunting dog, as a result, the Airedale is intelligent, independent and strong willed. Considered to be of above average intelligence they do extremely well in dog agility and obedience trials.

Airedales form a strong bond with their owners and their family, they are loyal and trustworthy dogs and make ideal family pets. However they do need the company of humans and are not a dog to be left outside alone all day unless you want a potentially destructive and disobedient dog.
